Admission: Toy for Worcester County Sheriff's Association's Needy 2008 or $10 for Worcester GOLD families.
Well, it's that time of year again... yes, it's time for the 10th annual HOTS FOR TOTS CHILI COOKOFF. This year's chili cookoff will be Sunday, December 6, 2008 at the West Ocean City Greene Turtle from 1-4pm.
We are asking YOU to participate in one of Ocean City's favorite winter activates and pastimes. This toy drive for the Worcester County Sheriff Association and fund drive for the families of Worcester GOLD have supplied over 15,000 toys in the past to Worcester County children and fed, clothed hundreds in the County.
To participate, it's simple. Click here to fill out the online form or fill out the attached registration form. We expect over 1000 people to come through the doors so you will need to have over 5 gallons of chili (prepared in your kitchen), at least one person to dish out the chili, bring your own heating element (hot plate, sternos, etc.), plastic spoons and small plastic bowls (3 oz) and a serving spoon to dish out the chili. You can promote your restaurant however you would like, so please don't forget to bring menus, business cards or any marketing tools. Voting will be done by patron participation. Each person who brings in a toy or donates money at the door will be given one ballot.
Along with the coveted "Best Chili in Ocean City" trophy, we will be awarding a "Best of Show" award to the best-dressed area. This portion of the Chili Cookoff is one of the most interesting portions of the day. So, please start to collect any items that will help you dress up your table. Please note all Christmas lights should be battery operated (we have known to blow a few fuses on this day).
Each restaurant will be featured on our website (www.ocphc.com). We will be happy to add a link to your establishment. You can also register for the Chili Cookoff online in the near future.
Along with the Best Restaurant Chili, we will also be having the Best Private Sector Chili Contest and the big boys - the CASI Competition, a professional competition throughout the United States (we have had cooks from Utah to Kentucky competed in the past). We will have over 60 different chilies that day. Don't forget to bring your TUMS.
